Illustration in Action - Fortunate Son

Fortunate Son is the Napa Valley wine project from acclaimed winemaker Jayson Woodbridge. Three flagship wines - Diplomat, Dreamer and Warrior - each with its own character and its own story. The brief? Bring those stories to life through illustration.
We worked closely with the team to understand each wine, then personified them through bespoke illustration, giving every bottle a distinct identity and real emotional weight. The style is tactile and dramatic, drawn straight from the stories behind the wines. Then we animated the artwork, adding depth and movement for an experience that pulls people in.
The result earned an AWWWARDS honorary mention, and praise the client still hears at wine shows around the world. Since launch, Fortunate Son has introduced several new wines, and we have created bespoke illustrations for each one. We understood where the brand was going and built an illustration style with room to grow into it.
